Wilmington & Western 58: The Autumn Leaf Express (HD)

Описание: In October of 2021, the Wilmington & Western Railroad fired up their steam workhorse for another year of the Autumn Leaf Special trains for 2021. The trains would be powered by a small, yet mighty locomotive, a Baldwin Locomotive Works 0-6-0 #58, better known as the Veteran's Locomotive. As she steams through the woodlands, winding curves, and rock cuts of Northern Delaware, the locomotive puts on quite a show sporting an Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad 6 Chime whistle that pierces the quiet midday with a thunderous roar. As she hauls a string of vibrant blue coaches behind her, passengers can enjoy the undisturbed forests as the seasons transition from a bright green to the astounding colorful pigments of the autumn season. Climbing the grade to Hockessin, the locomotive puts on quite the show as she traverses the full 10 mile line of the Wilmington & Western's trackage. Brief History of 58:
Wilmington & Western 58 is a product of the Baldwin Locomotive Works, being built in 1907. She was used in service as a steam switcher for the Atlanta, Birmingham & Coast and was numbered as No. 27. After exchanges with various owners and railroads, including the U.S. Army, she returned to service on the W&W dedicated as "The Veteran's Engine" on May 23, 1999, even touting an American flag on the cab. After a 1,472 day inspection in 2017, she returned to service once again.
