Egg truck crash causes road closures, rancid smell in Lancaster

A truck carrying eggs crashed and spilled its smashed contents across the road of a Lancaster intersection, causing ongoing closures of the Route 30 Walnut Street exit into Lancaster and surrounding areas.
Drivers were asked to avoid the Walnut Street exit and the intersection at Pleasure Road and New Holland Avenue while clean-up efforts were in place, according to the Lancaster City Bureau of Police. The road reopened around 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Egg shells could be seen on the roadway and left a strong rancid smell lingering in the area.
