Описание: Abstract: Field geologists commonly use distinctive plants that are unique to bedrock outcrops in preparing geologic maps. Similarly, sage seems to be co-located with archaeological sites and features. We’ll look at half a dozen examples from both remnant and reconstructed prairies in South Dakota’s Good Earth State Park and in Iowa’s Blood Run National Historic Landmark. Sage is an important ceremonial plant in many Native American traditions. It is speculated that the plants that we see today grew from buried indigenous seedbeds associated with archaeological sites.
