Winter bass fishing at Pinto Lake in Watsonville, CA was no joke. Cold water temps around 52 degrees, bluebird sunny skies, and a brutal winter bite made this a serious grind. I managed to scrape together 2 bass, while my buddy Dan got skunked—that’s how tough the conditions really were.
This is real winter bass fishing: slow presentations, patience, and adjusting to cold, pressured fish. If you fish Pinto Lake or similar natural lakes in winter, this video shows what the struggle actually looks like when the bite is far from easy.
