The Question Asked:
"I would appreciate some insight into the importance of Bd. Of Education v Rowley. For background, I came across this decision while preparing for my Dyslexic/Dysgraphic child’s IEP. He is in middle school. Honors English is a great fit for him from a literature perspective, but his writing skills are severely behind. Does this ruling mean the school is not responsible for his spelling, grammar, and general writing skills because he does derive benefit from grade level ELA instruction?
Thankfully his team did decide to give him some specialized instruction in these areas. I provide more at home. I am really pleased with the tone of our meeting this year (Madison City).
I want to educate myself in order to appropriately advise others."
