Make Your PTSD Disability Case Stronger with a Written Summary of Your Trauma

Описание: Almost half of all Social Security disability claims involve allegations of depression and anxiety. My experience has been that significant number of depression/anxiety claims include allegations of PTSD - post traumatic stress disorder.

As I discuss in this video, however, you will have a difficult time painting a complete picture of your past trauma if you expect to explain to your judge a lifetime of pain in a 45 minute hearing.

Even worse, many mental health providers will not include details about the physical, emotional or sexual trauma you have been through. Either they don’t have time to record all of this information, or because their focus is on addressing your current issues. Your record may be incomplete with regard to this important history.

Your PTSD claim will be much weaker if the Social Security judge does not understand why your behavior and mental state have deteriorated. But there is a solution.

With your lawyer’s help you can write out a one to three page summary explaining why you are so traumatized. This summary can be submitted as evidence or attached to your lawyer’s pre-hearing brief.
