In Starr's bedroom, James pulls back from the kiss and asks, "What're you doing?" They kiss again, but James stops. "Make love to me," Starr says and takes his jacket off. James reminds her that Cole just went to prison. "This is what he told me to do," she cries. James knows she's not ready for this. "He wants me to forget about him, with you," Starr explains. James admits he wants her but not like this and challenges, "This isn't what you want." Starr becomes angry and says, "You're right, I don't want any part of you!" She breaks down and cries, "I want my life back!" James gave her nothing of what she cherished and demands that he leave and never come back. Starr pounds on James' chest and screams, "I don't want you here!" James pulls Starr close and holds her tight as she sobs in his arms. Starr apologizes and admits how sad she is for her and Hope. She and Cole almost had it all until he... James urges her to go on. "It doesn't matter," Starr says. "He ruined his life! Now I have to raise Hope without him. I'm so angry!" James promises that Starr is not alone.
