Our flight was delayed visiting my sister in Spain so we only had one full day in Barcelona, but it was one we'll never forget. We saw as many of the major sites as we could, including the Sagrada Familia and the Cathedral of Barcelona, and we indulged in plenty of tapas and tinto de verano. Yet the best part of our trip was the unexpected festival right by our hotel, Festes de Santa Eulàlia, which included live music, performances, dances, and fireworks. The perfect introduction to Spain!
