Описание: This fossil specimen is a crinoid, an animal related to the starfish. We are more closely related to this animal than we are jellyfish. This is a fossil fragment from the Jurassic period. The crinoid is a "living fossil" still alive in the oceans today! Mike Harrison has found the most wonderful crinoid fossil you could ever imagine. The best tools are your eyes when finding fossils. I recommend wearing safety glasses and sturdy rubber gloves when hammering the right little rocks. Remember the cliffs are dangerous and liable to fall suddenly and without warning. Keep away from the dangerous cliffs, the best fossils are washed out onto the beaches at low tide, by the sea's actions. Look out for the slippery seaweed on the ledges and rocks.
