What we have here is a 1971 BMW 3.0 CSi European Coupe with 69,600 miles (111,998 km) on the odometer. This car is finished in Black and has a complementary Blue Leather interior. This car is a good driver and is in sound mechanical condition.

This 1971 BMW 3.0 CSi European Coupe is representative of one of the most beautiful cars that BMW has ever built. This particular car has been the subject of a restoration which so far has put the drive train in good shape and that has replaced many parts including:

All 6 fuel injectors rebuilt by a company in Halifax, N.S. that specializes in rebuilding injectors

Installed new plugs, plug wires, rotor, distributor cap

Installed new set of distributor trigger contacts (purchased from Chris Keefer, La Jolla Independent BMW, California)

Rebuilt both front brake calipers and right rear brake caliper

Replaced left rear brake caliper with rebuilt unit

Replaced windscreen wiper motor and linkage (original motor still good and included with car)

Installed fresh underpad front and rear on driver side floor

Renewed and refinished wood trim on driver and passenger doors

Installed new windscreen washer reservoir

Replaced air duct from grill to airbox

New exhaust system installed front to rear (includes center and rear silencers)

Removed, lubed and re-installed both rear window motors

New BMW emblems installed on hood and trunk

A compression test was performed on the motor and all 6 cylinders have 150 psi (spec) so mechanically she is not in need of anything.

Now the attention needs to be turned to the body. The engine compartment has been stripped to determine the extent of any rust repairs required and there is a replacement strut tower housing that comes with the car, Otherwise in this area, it needs to be repainted and detailed. There are a few areas on the body that need attention prior to having the car repainted but we have attempted to highlight those areas in the photographs provided (call me at 978-771-8375 with any specific questions). Overall, the body is in good condition.

The cars interior is the original Blue leather and the seating and carpets, as well as the dashboard, are in very good condition. the console is good and the lights, directionals etc are all in working order; she needs a new horn (the electrics to the horn are good). There are a few cracks where the dash meets the windshield. She is powered by her Fuel Injected 3.0 Liter Straight 6 coupled to her original 4 Speed transmission. She has Power Steering, Power Brakes, AM/FM Radio (original Becker or Blaupunkt?), Power rear Windows and Sunroof (works but needs attention).

This is a drivable project car that has huge potential. The 1971 BMW 3.0 CSi was never imported to the US so she is rare and valuable. and was well equipped for a car of its time.
