The music of OutRun, including Last Wave, was composed by Hiroshi Kawaguchi, a legendary SEGA composer known for blending catchy melodies with cutting-edge (for the time) FM synthesis. Kawaguchi’s work on OutRun, Space Harrier, and After Burner helped define the sound of 1980s arcade games and influenced generations of chiptune and synthwave artists.
