Hey there, Castle fans — I'm Jager Weatherby from Wetpaint Entertainment. The great Castle-Beckett Saga will continue next season — Castle's fourth — as our fave writer and fave detective inch closer and closer to a real relationship. When Beckett was shot in the finale, her whole life flashed before our eyes, and it was made up mostly of the people she's dated who aren't Richard Castle. Let's run through them and see how they compare to her one true love, who is Richard Castle — of course!

First up, Detective Tom Demming. In Season 2, Detective Demming was sent up from the Robbery Division of the precinct to assist Beckett with a case. That's not an innuendo, but we're assuming they did knock boots during the few episodes they dated. Anyway, not only did this Demming character distract Beckett from Castle, he also had the nerve to be a real police officer. What the F? The thing is, Demming was pretty handsome and also helped save the children, so it was kinda hard to hate him. Unfortunately, he was lacking a certain Richard Castle-ness, and Becks declined an invite to his summer share, making the "robbery" part of his job title kind of ironic. But just as Beckett was about to reveal her true feelings to Castle in the finale, the writer's ex-wife Gina strolled into the precinct all set to go to the Hamptons with him. Yeah, it was awkward for all of us us.

Up next, Mike Royce. Royce was Beckett's training officer — not her BF — but she admitted to being in love with him when he swung by for a visit in Season 3. This is kind of mind-blowing when you think about it. Beckett with a feeling? The love kind? Sadly, Royce turned out to be a ruby thief, and then — even more sad — he was killed off in a later episode. What's important about this relationship is that Royce is the only person aside from Castle that we've seen Beckett open up to about her mother's death. Castle is like the new Royce except he's not a thief, he's not an officer, and he doesn't wear leather blazers. (Thank God for that last one.)

And finally, we have Motorcycle Man Surgeon Josh. This season, Josh has been like carbon monoxide to Castle and Beckett's relationship. We don't really see him, but he's slowly killing them. When Josh has made an appearance, it's either super quick — i.e. he shows up at the station for a minute — or it's super over-the-top — like, he flies back from Haiti to save Beckett from hypothermia. Beckett admitted to Castle (while in radiation quarantine, naturally) that she was growing weary of Josh being away all the time. The relationship clearly isn't working, and yet the break-up is stalled. We've all been there, right, ladies?

So Castle fans, what do you think — Would Castle and Beckett finally being a relationship ruin the show? Share your thoughts in the comments below, or join the conversation on our Facebook page at   / castlefansite  . Byee!
