Ambler is a small incorporated city in Northwest Arctic Alaska with a population of about 300. It is home to mostly Inupiat Eskimo Native Alaskans known as the Kuuvanmiut, or people of the Kobuk River. This location is also known as Ivisaapaat, or the mouth of the Redstone River. For the residents of Ambler, this spot is prime hunting for big game such as caribou, moose, and bear and fishing for large quantities of chum salmon, pike, grayling, trout, sheefish, and whitefish. Blueberries, cranberries, and salmonberries can be found in abundance as well. Beaver, geese, ducks, cranes, swans are some other animals that may be found on the menu.
