The impetus for this piece's creation was the "discovery" (after a little internet sleuthing and some math) of an interesting sonic fact; if the "A" note reference pitch is tuned to 444hz instead of the standard 440hz, the "C" note above it becomes 528hz.
This is one of the "Solfeggio Frequencies", which have a reputation for creating positive human vibrations.
528hz is a particularly nice one for clearing out stuck emotions and enhancing feelings of peace and positivity.
Thus, our intent was to compose a song using 444hz as our reference pitch, and play it in the key of C, to center our vibrations around 528hz and its lower and higher octaves and harmonics.
Then we let the cosmos decide what notes should be played and sung, without overthinking it. Rather than second guessing ourselves or re-tracking anything, we left our original first takes intact, and without any pitch correction.
Our improvisations lasted just about 4 minutes, which we extended into 12 with some editing and further musical glue. The result is something that feels really special, spontaneous, and healing...like a cosmic transmission, perhaps.
