Описание: Before his conversion to Islam the Imam Alfred Muhammad was raised as a Christian in rural Virginia. His journey in religious leadership began in childhood as a Baptist preacher, but in 1960 the young minister Muhammad converted to the Nation of Islam. While in the NOI his desire was driven to become active in the 1960s Civil Rights Movement. Most notably, the Imam managed voter registration drives and worked closely with the lieutenants of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

With the passing of NOI founder and leader (the Honorable Elijah Muhammad) in 1975, and the shift in power to his son (Imam Warith Deen Muhammad), the life of young Minster Alfred changed almost instantly. He would soon be called upon to become a personal assistant to the leader at the then Masjid Honorable Elijah Muhammad, where he rapidly absorbing the leader's teachings, and eventually appointed as an Imam – the distinguished title of a recognized religious leader in Islam.

Imam Muhammad has a host of accomplishments, and bumped shoulder with some very disguised people. This included his stay in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia where he was a personal guest of King Khalid. When the Turkish Prime Minister and after, when the Chief Rabbi of Israel made American visits, Imam Alfred was the chosen representative to greet and engage those world leaders. Today the Imam is an elected official (councilman) in Lynden, New Jersey where he continues his passion of spreading peace in order to alleviate violence and heal the effects of family destruction.
