@thechildrensmedic Aspirin should not be used to relieve fever in children with chicken pox as it is associated with a condition called Reye’s syndrome.
Reye’s syndrome is a severe but rare disease that majorly impacts the liver and brain.
Ibuprofen should not be used in children with chicken pox unless advised by a doctor as it has been associated with life threatening bacterial skin infections.
You can consider giving paracetamol to a child with chicken pox if their pain or fever are causing them distress.
Note: oral paracetamol is not licensed for use in children under 2 months of age
