The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has issued a notice to Ramco Cement authorities following multiple complaints from the local community. The cement plant, located in Haridaspur, Dharmasala Block, has been operational since 2019 and covers the surrounding Thanual, Aruha, Haridaspur, and Sundaria panchayats.

Residents allege that the factory has failed to take proper measures for local safety and pollution control. The factory reportedly extracts groundwater using deep borewells, leading to water scarcity in Jogarda, Muraripur, and Shrivantapur areas.
