Today finds us in the Cornhill Quarter of Lincoln, that is currently in the middle of a major new development. Whatever people think of changes to the old Market, there is no doubt that this area had become very run down, and wasn't a great introduction to Lincoln for anyone arriving at the railway station. But things are changing rapidly now. The old bus station has gone, along with the adjacent Co-op store and roof-top car park.
Soon I hope to start chronicling the hotel and rest of the new development on this site as work progresses. But for now we are heading back to the early 1990s to remember a crazy and well loved, but short lived shop.
Mad Harrys was one of those discount stores that pop up briefly every now and again, do a roaring trade, then disappear as fast as they appeared. Can you remember it and did you get any bargains there?
