Kasundi or musturd sauce is a traditional Bengali recipe. Kasundi can be paired with snacks, appetizers as a dip. Kasundi or Mustard Sauce is made with the goodness of raw mango, black mustard seeds, Yellow musturd seeds, white vinegar, Green chilli and garlic. Serve this easy-to-make recipe with fritters of your choice and enjoy. While it is never used in cooking, but we can use this as a great marinade for fish or chicken. One of the good thing about this delicious recipe is that it can be stored for days and can be enjoyed whenever you crave for it.
Ingredients :
50 gm Yellow musturd seeds
50 gm black musturd seeds
4 tbs raw mango
7-8 garlic pods
2 Green chilli
1 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp Turmeric powder
1/2 tsp roasted Fenugreek powder
2 tbs vinegar
2-3 tbs musturd oil or ( any cooking oil )
1/2 tsp asafoetida
2 tbs sugar.
Salt as required.
Method :
Wash Yellow musturd seeds and black musturd seeds and sundry it.
In a jar add musturd seeds, garlic, Green chilli, raw mango, coriander powder, red chilli powder, Turmeric powder, sugar and salt.
Add water and grind into a smooth paste.
Heat oil in a pan. Add in asadoetida.
Add grinded paste.
Add water for right consistently.
Allow it to boil. Immediately Switch off the pan.
Allow it to Cool down completly.
Store in a glass jar.
Refrigerate and use accordingly.
Delicious kasundi is ready.
