In this video, I’m removing the three old 12 volt batteries and installing two new Duracell GC15 6 volt deep cycle batteries in series for 12 volts. 230 amp hours total. These were highly rated and relatively inexpensive at $115 each.
I'll test these during my trip to Texas for my RV Technician Training. I'll do a lot of dry camping (boondocking) to fully test these new 6 volt batteries. At 230 Amp Hours, I should have plenty of power. I'll run my refrigerator on DC power while driving. My Solar panel and Alternator should keep the batteries at 12.9 volts or higher.
I'll check the voltage regularly with my meter and compare with the on-board charge controller battery meter.
There are some safety precautions you’ll need to be advised about before doing any electrical work on your RV.
