Sharing Solves Storage When Maybe Someday Isnt Needed Organize Home

Описание: If you're holding on to extra things, like dishes that you rarely use, but you're thinking, I might need that someday, one thing I tell clients is: if you can borrow it, maybe you can let it go.

So I've let go of lots of entertaining pieces and dishes over the years as we've downsized. But I've kept wooden dishes in my upstairs kitchen, gray plastic dishes in the downstairs kitchen, and bright colored dishes in the camper. And we don't use them every month, so they don't get really great storage in my house—I have to go and get them.

However, I loan them out a lot. For example, we're going to a party tonight, and the host called and said, “Hey, do you have unbreakable dishes? I think we're going to have a bigger crowd than anticipated, and I don't want to use disposables.”

And so here's a trick: take a picture of the items that you're bringing to share, or you're dropping off, or your friend is picking up. So at the end of the event, you can tell whose dishes are whose.

It's a really fun way to not only share your surplus and share things that someone may only need once in a while, it also makes the cleanup and the getting things back to whomever they belong so much easier.
