We welcome visitors on 4th September at Homeacres Open Day https://charlesdowding.co.uk/events/h...
From 4th July to 15th August, we had one of our driest ever spells with just 5 mm/0.2 inches of rain in six weeks. Then we had a storm, two days before this video. Now it's dry again!
Summer passes so quickly and often it feels like I am running to keep up. Growth this year has been rapid because of extra warmth, for those plants we have watered.
Tress we don't water. We do water the raspberries and they are Joan J.
No dig is brilliant for conserving moisture and we are not watering everything. The vegetables I show you first though have had water twice a week, applied by hand. They are chicory for radicchio, Brussels sprouts, parsnips, kale, leeks, cabbages, dwarf French beans, and calabrese.
After them I show you new and very small transplants, just two weeks old.
The summer warmth has been great for tomatoes, peppers, aubergines and melons.
