Back in January, we were able to follow the shortline Aiken Railway as the crew started its switching for the day. The Aiken Railway, which is owned and operated by the Western Carolina Railway Service, operates two GP30s at the Aiken, South Carolina shortline. Today, #4202 does the honors. This EMD GP30 was built in 1963, and dates back to Santa Fe and LTEX. The 19 mile shortline has four industries that the line switches.
