The vampire is tied to queerness so closely that it’s hard to write vampire fiction without also writing queer allegory. While watching Castlevania: Nocturne, I was struck by an evocative, and perhaps unintentional, allegory for transition, selfhood and the impossibility of getting away from yourself. I was so struck that I made a whole video about it before I even finished the show. Grab yourself some wall meat™ and let’s talk about it.
