We hired a contractor to restore the roof and exterior walls, paid him €20.000 upfront… and he disappeared. No work, no refund, just heartbreak. But we couldn’t stop — rainwater was leaking in, and the roof was close to collapse.
Our new contractor quickly installed scaffolding and removed the old roof within days. Meanwhile, we took on a DIY project in our overgrown garden, trying to keep our spirits (and budget) alive.
