John Michael Finley was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas, and raised in Lebanon, Missouri. He attended Roosevelt University's—Chicago College of Performing Arts—and began his professional acting career in Chicagoland. He moved to New York City in 2015, where he made his Broadway debut in the ensemble of Les Misérables and as Jean Valjean's understudy. One of Coz's favorite movies is “I Can Only Imagine,” John's first motion picture. John stars as Bart Millard, lead singer of the music group Mercy Me. After the production of “I Can Only Imagine” was completed, John returned to Broadway as the Standby for Elder Cunningham in Book of Mormon. In 2018, John made his West End debut as Elder Cunningham in Book of Mormon. He loves baseball and is a St. Louis Cardinals fan. He enjoys weightlifting, Olympic lifting, and table Tennis. He’s a chef and loves to cook. He loves his lovely and talented wife, Elizabeth, and three-year-old son, Gus.
