Ultimate Adventure: Wellington To Askham South Africa Road Trip! Season 2 Episode 2 - October 2023

Описание: We took a few days to drive from Wellington, Cape Province to Askham, Northern Cape via Springbok.

Our first night’s accommodation was in Val du Charron wine estate in Wellington, what a wonderful place to rest and unwind. The food was excellent and the atmosphere of tranquillity was perfect.

After a great stay we made our way to Sperregebiet Lodge in Namaqualand, just before Springbok. The rustic accommodation was perfectly fine for a one-night stop and the peaceful atmosphere was just what we needed after a long drive.

Our last long drive was from Sperregebiet, via Springbok for petrol, to Upington. The road to Upington was really boring and I don’t think we will do it again! We obviously didn’t learn from the first time we drove it. We stopped off at Upington to buy the last of our groceries and swop our rental car to a Toyota Hilux 4x4 from Kalahari 4x4.

Our last night of the road trip was spent in Molopo Kalahari Lodge just outside Askham. We chose this location just to cut our long day of driving short. The drive to Molopo took us 2 hours and we arrived at about 3pm, just enough time to unpack, sort out our groceries, freeze anything that needed freezing and prepare our camera gear. We had dinner at the restaurant which was very pleasant and were able to rest after the long day.

Our next episode will see us finally arrive at our long awaited destination, Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park.
