How to Configure Server Core and Manage Remotely

When you turn on a Windows Server Core, you only have a command prompt window to manage and control your Server.
So how do you manage a Windows Server Core?
Well, you have few options,
1. You can either open a PowerShell window and have full control over your VM
2. Or use another server with Graphical user interface and remotely manage this server.
But how do you configure remote administration, or how do you even rename the server or do any of the basic post setup administrative task.
Windows Server core has a very easy to use tool for this. SCONFIG.
System config is a tool designed to complete the post installation steps in a semi graphical and interactive interface.
Once the tool loads, you will notice there are 15 sets of commands categorized in 4 sections.
First 4 are for joining the Server to the domain, renaming the computer, adding a new local Administrator user and enable or disabling the remote management.
Next 3 options are for Windows update behavior and remote desktop settings.
Options 8 to 11 are some generic settings such as IP date and time, telemetry settings and Windows activations.
The last 4 option, are log out, restart, and shut downing the server or quitting the tool and going back to the command prompt.
In order to use any of the menus, you just need to type in the number of the menu that you would like and follow the instructions.
