4K - The Spirit of Union Pacific! Epic Chase of UP

Описание: Presented in 4K! On Saturday November 18th, 2017, Union Pacific #1943 rolled through Southern California on its maiden trip to the West Coast and Southern California. Upon hearing news about this, I raced out to the Coachella Valley and chased this train along the UP Yuma Subdivision, also known as the Sunset Route. Unveiled one month ago in San Antonio, TX with much anticipation, UP #1943 wears a sharp silver, grey, and camouflage paint scheme, unique to any locomotive in the United States! One sharp looking locomotive, gotta give credit to Union Pacific for honoring our veterans and armed forces who protect our freedoms every single day.

Originating in Council Bluffs, IA, this 6 car deadhead passenger special was enroute to Oakland. As of today (11/20), the special along with UP 1943 is currently in the Bay Area awaiting further assignment.

I started my chase in Indio, where after a short delay, the special passenger train cruised by. I then headed to the Cabazon area, where I caught the special 2 times. With the light fading, my next "daylight" location was Beaumont, at the California Ave. crossing. Finally, caught up to the special one last time at Slover along the Palmdale Cutoff, in Colton.

Afterwards, I headed over to the San Bernadino area to catch Amtrak #4, which had 2 brand new Siemens Charger locomotives enroute to the Midwest for use there. Also caught a Norfolk Southern SD70M-2 locomotive switching around the intermodal yard in San Bernardino, awaiting its journey east to Memphis later that night.
