Описание: High Ground Organics is an organic CSA farm in Watsonville, CA. We are dedicated to growing flavorful, and nourishing vegetables and fruits for our customers, but we also strive to create a balance with the environment in our farming practices. Because half our farm borders the protected wetlands of the Harkins Slough, we go to great lengths to prevent erosion, create a living soil, improve surrounding wildlife habitat, and conserve water and other resources on our farm. But delivering several hundred fresh-packed CSA boxes to pick-up sites throughout the Bay Area is a challenge to do without waste.

We have been using waxed cardboard boxes, which are water resistant and can be reused quite a few times, but still end up in the landfill after they become tattered. Our liner bags, while keeping the produce nice and fresh, contribute to even more waste in the landfill. We would like to ask your help in funding a set of re-usable crates for our CSA program that will eliminate the need to continuously buy and discard waxed cardboard boxes and plastic liners.

Although there is a big initial investment to bring in these boxes, it will be cost-effective in the long run, as we will not have to continually purchase the waxed boxes that can only be used a certain number of times. We are hoping to reach our goal of $15,000 for a set of re-usable crates. Please help us contribute to being more environmentally friendly in our CSA program!
