Nick and Tiny musically share much more in common than most people realize. Of course, Nick sang the original publication of Tiptoe Through The Tulips, a song they both somehow made a career off of, but Tiny himself covered dozens of Nick's same jazz standards over the years.

Technique-wise vocally, they're very similar as well, with Tiny copying a good majority of Nick's techniques more than a lot of the other musicians he was influenced by of the era.

My personal favorite part is that it sounds like of all of the famous people that Tiny met in his career, Nick was the one of the few that really appreciated him as a musician and person and respected him a lot for it. I look at how Bing Crosby and Ruddy Vallee and a lot of these other famous musicians treated Tiny, and it never looked like they had any intent of seeing him as much more than a weirdo.
Nick understood him a good bit better, and I'd say it's because they both inimately understood music's phycology as a bit more than pop when compared to a lot of other musicians.
