I never did anything wrong. I mostly kept to myself. I never bothered anyone. However, people were scared because of the way I looked. Hair did not grow on the top of my head. My eyebrows were quite bushy and my teeth were overgrown.
My parents did not love me. When I was born, they took one look at me and thought a demon had possessed me. The one person who loved me was my grandmother. She raised me to have nothing but love in my heart. Throughout my entire life, I never sought revenge for the way people treated me. I thought they would eventually learn I was good and not evil. I took good care of my granny as she got older.
On the night she died, I held her in my arms. I held her for hours in tears. Part of me could not accept she was gone. When I came fully to terms that she was dead, I ran outside to scream and cry. It was a little after midnight.
Villagers kept coming. They looked at me in horror, especially after discovering my cold grandmother with no breath lying in her bed.
More and more people came. They thought I killed her. "I would never hurt Granny!" I yelled over and over. "I would never hurt Granny!"
People tried lighting me on fire and stabbing me with pitchforks. Even then, I did not fight back. I wanted to die. I wanted to be with Granny again.
Sadly, even in death, I remained stuck inside the house. I wondered if I was just not pretty enough to be welcomed into heaven.
It was a rainy afternoon when a few villagers decided it would be fun to look around my house. I was angry but I still tried to welcome them. I even tried to serve them bread, sausages and tea the way my Granny always did for me.
They simply laughed, just as they did when I was alive.
"How dare they!" I thought to myself. They came to my home uninvited. They were ready to eat and drink what I prepared, yet they continued to make jokes about my teeth and hair.
I couldn't take it anymore. I made the food and the food table disappear. I tilted the house when they tried to relax in my granny's bed. I scared them with flames of fire. I spun the house around in circles. I shrunk them, took them outside and ate them.
I do not regret finally taking revenge. I just hope that wherever my Granny is, she could somehow forgive me.
