this is to show how to correct a cam phaser that will not lock back to the normal position when not being adjusted by the Ecm .this happens to a lot of the aftermarket parts that are installed in place of a higher quality one part . which happens to most of the repairs of thus kind due to the parts cost of factory parts . It's not the main body of these phasers that go bad. There are very few parts inside and the spring on the body that actually ware during normal conditions and the locking pin spring and the main spring on the tensioner are the failing points of these type phasers. Then in rare cases if installed incorrectly there can be a lot of stuff that can explode apart . The key way type of pin that holds the phaser in time with the cam if not lined up can create a bad day fast.Gri ding the front of the cam and snapping off the pin and falling into the chain and badda Bing its over in seconds.
this shows how I corrected the issues that this 5.4 ford had .
