For millennia now, the Island of #Chios in the Greek Archipelago is famous for its #MasticGum so in this video we will take a closer look at how the valuable resin is won from the #MasticTree, and what its potential uses are. While the tree itself is sparsely spread across the hole Mediterranean, it is only on the Island of Chios that the Mastic Tree produces its resin called Mastic Gum. Due to this rarity and the very lengthy harvesting process, it is an extremely valuable material, and incredibly important to the people of Chios.
