Single direct attack is one of Bruce Lee's five ways of attack. This is as simple as it looks, yet very hard to master. It's part of your game that is essential to work hard on, and keep coming back to. The key thing here is getting your structure right.
Get the head off the centre line and rotate the fist near the end of the strike. Concentrate on length and bringing it back fast. First learn it on the spot finding out how much distance you can get within your stance, then add a step. Remember the rule; the hand moves first then the body after.
Train in a mirror, doing it slowly. Then alternate slow and fast.
Finally try it on an opponent like in the video, then if that's working well get it into your sparring. Aim at nine out of ten.
See if you can keep your structure under sparring pressure. Remember it's all about the back foot supplying the power.
