You often hear that the rule of law is under threat in Europe. But what does it mean and why should we care?
The rule of law ensures that decisions are made in a democratic way and human rights are protected. In countries such as Hungary and Poland, governments are gradually tearing down this system. This puts the European project under direct threat. This is why we urge the European Commission and other EU countries to stop these governments with all tools available!
