Built in 1906 to power the processing operations at the Mt Bischoff mine, (the second Hydro station in Tasmania after Duck Reach), it was connected to the state electricity grid in 1951, in 1952 a landslip destroyed a section of water race and it was never repaired.
4 pelton-style impulse turbines, two small and two large.
