On a hot day last July (2017), several of my pro singer buddies came over just to let me sing a tune with them! It was all for fun - a guilty pleasure "bucket list" kind of thing for me, not being a singer (unlike my duet buddies in each of these videos, all of whom truly are pro vocalists!).

Gina Saputo is a professional vocalist and a member of my group, Paul Young Jazz Quintet +1 (she’s the honorable "+1"), which plays regularly at the iconic Los Angeles jazz club, The Lighthouse Cafe in Hermosa Beach. She's an awesome musician, and my buddy, so please check out her links below, too. She can scat sing like a real pro...i.e., this was truly all improvised! That made this even more fun, primarily being a jazz trombone player myself, unabashedly crossing into her realm here... She’s also the only singer who did two duets with me in this series, so there’s another still to come. So thank you, Gina!!!

This was the fourth of several tunes we did that day - a jazz standard by Nat King Cole, associated with him as as well as a favorite record of mine and Gina's Diana Krall: Dedicated to You (Nat), among others. It has silly nonesense lyrics and made up food words...a fun thing to sing and quite fitting for my videos thus far!
