In this video, I’m joined by Sou and two other friends as we visit the famous Jami Ul-Alfar Mosque in Colombo, also known as the Red Mosque. This iconic mosque is one of the most recognizable landmarks in the city due to its unique, candy-striped red and white exterior. Its design is a mix of Indo-Saracenic architecture, and the striking red and white pattern makes it look almost like a giant gingerbread house! The mosque was built in 1909, and it stands out for its intricate geometric patterns and beautiful domes, which make it one of the most photographed buildings in Colombo.

The mosque holds significant cultural and religious value for the Muslim community in Sri Lanka, but what makes it even more special is its visual appeal, drawing visitors from all over the world. The architectural detail and vibrant colors make this mosque a must-see attraction.

After several attempts to visit, we finally made it inside, and we got SUPER lucky with our guide! He gave us an exclusive VIP tour that even took us up to the rooftop, offering a breathtaking view of the surrounding area. It was an incredible experience, and I’m excited to share it with you!
