Yari Samurai are described as being able to form a defensive wall of spears, but lack the formation to really do so. Let's glance at what they'd look like if they did.
This kind of experiment is inherently flawed. You can't really know how a unit will perform in a battle if you only pit 1 unit vs another, but it does at least form the basis for discussion.
