Kidneys regulate the osmotic pressure of a mammal's blood through extensive filtration and purification, in a process known as osmoregulation. Kidneys filter the blood; urine is the filtrate that eliminates waste from the body via the ureter into the bladder.
Kidneys are called osmoregulators since they play a very large and important role in human osmoregulation. They regulate the amount of water in urine waste.

Proof Of Osmoregulatory Organ:
When water intake is large enough to dilute blood plasma, a urine more dilute than blood plasma is produced; when water intake is so small that blood plasma is concentrated, a urine more concentrated than blood plasma is produced.
1- Dilute Urine Formation
Formation of dilute urine depends on decreased secretion of ADH from pituitary. Kidneys continue to absorb solute; while fail to absorb the water. ... Urine ADH increases the permeability of the distal tubules & collecting ducts to water.
2- Concentrated Urine Formation:
It is now generally agreed that the formation of concentrated urine in the mammalian kidney is effected by the production of a highly concentrated environment around the medullary collecting ducts in which the final concentrating process occurs by osmotic equilibration of the collecting duct.
Role Of ADH In Urine Formation:
ADH increases the permeability to water of the distal convoluted tubule and collecting duct, which are normally impermeable to water. This effect causes increased water reabsorption and retention and decreases the volume of urine produced relative to its ion content.
