The young director revealed how he had the idea some ten years ago when he was watching a film in a theater and remembered how the idea sprouted as he just saw the interview of the same star a couple of hours ago.

We had a detailed discussion about how fanism alters in the way how different people view the relationship between fan and a star.

Mahesh Babu declined the popular perception that the movie's title has been inspired by Pawan Kalyan's popular slogan - "Pithapuram MLA Gari Taluka".

"Initially I wanted to name the film as Andhra King. In the process of writing, there is a dialogue saying Andhra King Taluka. I liked it a lot and my ADs were also very impressed. Only then, they said about the "Pithapuram MLA Gari Taluka". It is good if Pawan Kalyan fans connect to that because they are in higher numbers," he said.

Mahesh Babu revealed his own fan moments about a wall collapse at Jagadamba Theater, Vishakapatnam for the release of Indra and how he bought Shankar Dada MBBS tickets for 500 Rupees in Black.

He explained at length about why he is not okay as a director to have a Telugu Superstar play the role of Andhra King as the character needs certain amount of Acceptance and Maturity.

He also spoke about the comparision with Puri Jagannadh's Nenithe. He remembered how he and his father met Puri Jagannadh while making Nenithe. "Back then, he said to my father - "Let him Try. What will happen? At best he will fail". It was such a beautiful line," he remembered.

We also asked him if he has issues when actors like Naveen Polishetty gets credit for a film.

"A mother bears a child for nine months. But father says it is my child. It is difficult for the mother because she went through all through the hardships. A film is for audience. Time will decide the credit," he said.
