In the 70's, Johnny Fogwell made quite a name for himself in the Cycle Jumping world...although, most people would have known him by his performance name, Johnny Wonder.
Johnny came from Chinchilla in Qld, and, as well as his cycle jumping exploits, he was also quite an enthusiastic country singer.
This track. though, is decidedly more Pop than country.
The title, "Flying Machine", of course, alludes to Johnny's high flyin' motorbike stunts.
It was released in Australia in 1980 on an RCA 45, 103715.
The flipside was "It Must Be Love", which I've also uploaded to YouTube.
Both tracks were written by respected Brisbane performer, Peter Moscos, and Pat Garvey, a person who has been around the Brisbane entertainment scene for years.
These days, Johnny is alive and well.
He runs the famous "Velvet Waters" Rock & Roll Night Nightclub at Caloundra, having taken over from the club's founder, Tony Worsely.
Johnny also performs there with his rock & roll tribute show.
This upload is from the original 45.
