Just showing a repair on a CR-V. Owner complained of sudden random times where the car would simply shut completely down rather than start. They thought it was the immobilizer, but it was only a loose battery connection. I show in this video the diagnosis and the solution using a simple battery post shim.
Update: I explained the use of dielectric grease improperly. It is not conductive at all, but a corrosion preventative and is a helpful lubricant/sealant to keep moisture out of electrical connections. In this situation, it is helpful since the post shim could trap water or battery acid in the voids, so the dielectric grease displaces those voids in order to prevent corrosion.
