I am continuing to practice painting with oil paints. This one definitely went through a lot of phases, and some of them might have been better than the final result. I will have to continue to experiment with these techniques and materials a bit more!

I also experimented a liquid clear/blue layer to start, similar to what Bob Ross used in his dark paintings. I really liked some of the nice fade effects I was able to achieve with that, but didn't quite know where to go from there to achieve the look I was going for. Still it was fun, and the painting is satisfying and bright. I hope you'll enjoy watching and listening to the process.

For those unfamiliar, ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. It’s a calming, sometimes tingling sensation people may experience in response to gentle stimuli, like soft sounds, whispering, or repetitive actions. Whether or not you experience ASMR in any specific way, these types of videos provide an opportunity to unwind, relieve stress, and experience a calming presence. Some people also enjoy them for tinnitus relief.

I create no talking and soft spoken ASMR art videos with the goal of enjoyable sound quality and an unintentional ASMR feel. I want these ASMR videos to offer a comfortable, relaxing, and soothing experience, with a genuine, natural style. In my earlier recordings, I mostly set up the camera and audio recording gear, forget about them, and get into the drawing and painting. Now I sometimes speak a little, sharing my thought process along the way. Check the playlist section if you prefer one style over the other.

Each video I make has subtle variations that happen as a natural part of this process. In this collection so far, there are different styles of brushwork, palette knife techniques, foam brush painting, charcoal drawings, each with different amounts of background white noise, hum of traffic, and even some with real rain sounds.
