Relax and enjoy a nature view in wild Scotland
Tree planting Sitka spruce for a commercial forestry restock.
Not a favourite type a planting, but when work is available you are obliged to do it.
Winter planting is hard but essential. Even with snow on the ground, trees can be planted.
The only thing that stops a planter is frozen mounds.
Trees are dormant during this time and are best suited to planting. Allowing root growth ready for the upcoming spring.
Paid just 13p per tree planted. A pinch of fertiliser is needed to help the trees in their first years of life.
Although it may look idyllic, doing this for 8 hours a day becomes a marathon effort.
Good planters can plant 3-6000 trees in a shift
