The construction and redevelopment of Yeshwantpur (Yesvantpur) Railway Station, Bengaluru, is a major infrastructure project undertaken to upgrade passenger amenities, operational efficiency, and overall station aesthetics in line with modern railway standards.
The scope of work includes construction of new station buildings, improvement of platform surfaces, FOBs (Foot Over Bridges), lifts and escalators, and development of circulating areas for smooth passenger movement. The project also involves structural works, architectural finishes, electrical installations, water supply, sanitation systems, and fire-fighting arrangements.
Special emphasis has been given to passenger convenience, including modern waiting halls, ticketing areas, toilets, drinking water facilities, improved lighting, signage, and accessibility provisions for Divyangjan (persons with disabilities).
The construction activities are executed while ensuring safe railway operations, adherence to Indian Railways specifications, and compliance with relevant safety, quality, and environmental standards. The project aims to transform Yeshwantpur Station into a world-class transport hub, capable of handling increased passenger traffic and future growth.
