Connecting Indigenous People with Health Care in Venezuela

Описание: Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) teams in Delta Amacuro, northeastern Venezuela, help provide access to primary health care to indigenous communities, focusing on prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

These remote communities, located along the Orinoco River, face significant challenges in receiving health care. MSF coordinates with the state health authorities and regional health facilities to connect people with care. Teams also conduct water and sanitation services and health promotion.

MSF works closely with the communities and local leaders to provide health services in a way that does not contradict people's cultural beliefs and customs.
