InterCity 125 Class 43 | Denvilles | 18th April 1999

Описание: Sunday 18th April 1999 - Class 43 InterCity 125 HST climbs out of Havant at Denvilles with the 1S99 1150 Bournemouth - Edinburgh virgin trains service (The Dorset Scot). It appeared that the rear power car 43157 HMS Penzance wasn't working so the unknown power car at the front would have been making a some noise working hard on the climb up to Buriton tunnel.

This service had been diverted from the usual Winchester route between Southampton Airport and Reading so stopped at Eastleigh and reversed, then ran via Fareham, Havant, and Guildford to head onto Reading. I guess easy to switch ends at Eastleigh for a HST than for a Class 47 that would need to run round the stock, as when they ran diverted services they would travel direct to Fareham via Netley, missing out the Southampton Airport stop. Also I believe the HSTs were not cleared to travel the direct route via Netley anyway.
