This snare was very rusty. I scrubbed it down but its still a bit rusty. everything was actually chrome and the rims were made out of a cheep warped triple flanged metal. I bought new vintage style chrome die cast rims/hoops and spray painted it gold along with the lugs. the crack that this snare makes is ear shattering like no other. i put some super sensitive snare wires on the bottom so you can here the softest ghost notes. Its a beast.......
